Snowshoeing on Top of the World
Your adventure begins with a 15 minute gondola ride from the parking lot at Sunshine Village up to the village centre and the Standish chairlift. The Standish chairlift then drops us off on top of the continental divide where we can see the mountains of British Columbia and Alberta visible in all directions. As we explore the area around Grizzly, Larix and Rock Isle Lakes we'll experience winter at its very best - and most authentic. Halfway along we can stop at our snow hut where we can take a break for hot drinks and snacks - and where you can learn the art of winter camping and snowhut building.
Be prepared for any kinds of weather from sunny days to windy, gusty, driving snow days! Hat, glove, warm coat and pants are a must. Winter boots or hiking boots are required. Neck warmer and ski goggles can be very helpful, especially for the short chairlift ride.
Total round trip will be around 4 1/2 hours, including transfer from Banff. Suitable for children 12 years and older.
Trips depart Banff at 12:15pm Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday
